Web sites are sometimes difficult to price accurately in advance because they differ in complexity and involvement. Two sites can look similar, yet one may take much more time to build because the owner has greater demands and higher design ambitions.
Some web-builders get around this problem by offering 'template' designs. This means re-using the same basic design layout for different clients, but changing background colours, pictures and text to give the web sites different personalities. We, too, can do this for you if you would prefer. If keeping costs low is a priority for you, then we can work from publicly-available templates that will save time for us and money for you.
If you prefer the idea of a completely original and individualised web site, then we can build it to order. We can take one of two routes:
- A 'Web Start' package, which has a low price but necessary limits on page numbers, graphics, complexity, etc. The cost of this is shown here
- A completely customised web site, whose function and design are determined by what you are trying to present.
If you choose the second option, then we will discuss your ideas and then build for you exactly what you specify. The samples shown on our 'portfolio' page are web sites whose function and appearance match exactly the criteria specified at the planning stage.
Because so many web sites are highly individualised, we try to take a flexible approach to pricing. We will give you a much clearer idea of cost once we've discussed your project with you and discovered exactly what you want us to do. We make no charge for that discussion.
After that discussion, we will be able to tell you the cost of realising your design, or, if you prefer, how much of your design can be realised for the budget you have pre-set.
The following guide is intended to give you an indication of charges for various items, but you will need to provide us with information about exactly what you want before we can give you an accurate price. We will not consider an exploratory chat as any form of commitment on your part.

PAYMENT - N.B. We are very approachable and easy to deal with. We are also easy to bribe with favours. In the past, we've been bribed with such things as the use of a skiing apartment in the French Alps, the transportation of goods and furniture to France, and bits of translation work. If you would prefer to negotiate with something other than money, then you are welcome to suggest it.
Payment Terms: After you instruct us, we will ask you for a deposit of £40 before we begin work. This covers our initial disbursements, and is non-refundable should you then decide to abandon the building of your site. Following receipt of this deposit we will issue you with a receipt and then build your site to your specifications and satisfaction, making amendments as necessary. When you are completely satisfied, we will issue an invoice for the balance of your bill. Your web pages do not become your property until that invoice has been settled in full.
Following completion, we will give you a tutorial on how to access various data and statistics relating to your site, and will then undertake the submissions of your site to various of the major search engines.
EXTRA DISCOUNT Details! The above table shows our normal rates already discounted for Total France members. However, if you are an 'active member' of the TF community then we will increase the discount by a further 5%. 'Active members' are defined as those who make contributions to the knowledge base in our forum. For the purpose of this discount, an 'active member' is anyone with more than 10 forum posts to their credit.
